I currently train clients in their homes, at nearby parks or at the beach. I like to keep my routines challenging, creative and fun. I will customize every workout to fit your needs. My goal is that you will never get bored and you will want to work out even if we are not training together.
I have found that exercising outdoors is much more enjoyable. I have many clients that comment that the constant change of scenery, the fresh air and the beautiful surroundings help them keep their minds off of the clock.
Why I became a Personal Fitness Trainer:
In high school I hated even the thought of running. I would say out loud that I would NEVER be a runner. One day, I decided that I wanted to find out what the hype was about. I went on a mission to challenge myself. I decided to train for a triathlon. It was the Danskin Women’s triathlon and the proceeds went to breast cancer research. My grandmother had breast cancer at the time so I felt I NEEDED TO DO IT. I loved to bike and I wanted to be a better swimmer so my only challenge was to enjoy running. To my amazement, I loved it! I continued signing up for local events and challenging myself with new things. Being active became a way of life for me. In 1999 I broke my leg and was forced to my couch for 4 months. My recovery was slow and I pretty much gave up on myself. Because I couldn’t do the activities I was used to doing, I gave up. What I didn’t realize at the time was that not only was I giving up on a healthy lifestyle, but I was also giving up on a healthy spirit. After my son was born in 2004, and with an incredible 75 lbs to lose, I had had enough. I slowly worked myself back into shape in a healthy way. It took me a very long time, well so it seemed, but I did it! Women around me started asking me to help them with their journey. That was when I decided to make the career change and become a certified fitness trainer. It is so awesome for me to share my story with others and inspire them to succeed.
In 2007 I ran 3 half marathons, decreasing my time on each by 15 minutes. I found my love for running again! I also just completed the Carlsbad Marathon on January 20th 2008. I continue to sign up for races to keep myself “IN TRAINING”. I enjoy being outside, I enjoy a challenge and I love fitness. I hope I can help you find a love for it as well.
During the past few years, I have been very successful helping women shed unwanted pounds. What I find is that most people are so set on losing weight that they forget that there are many other benefits to exercise. I can help you realize that it is about our health, but it is also about our well being. I want my clients to reach their goals and become happier, healthier people.
My success is your success.
